Highlights 2023

  • The Engineering Academy organized a workshop titled “Outlooks on Personal Mobility.” The workshop focused on CO2 emissions from transportation and emphasized the need for a systemic approach to this issue, considering the perspectives of natural sciences (Physics and Chemistry), economics, and industry.
  • As part of the programme of workshops on the energy future of the Czech Republic, the Engineering Academy organized two workshops analyzing feasible scenarios for the development of the country’s energy resources and comparing their economic feasibility.
  • The Engineering Academy awarded the prize for the outstanding technical project “Subcritical Reactor VR-2,” a unique research nuclear reactor designed and constructed by the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering at CTU in Prague. The reactor is controlled by an external neutron source and is characterized by its high inherent safety, variability, and flexibility.
