The topic approached in this paper follows the actual trends of power system modernization through the smart grid(s) concept. In particular, the smart metering, smart home and electric vehicle concepts are developed simultaneously with the idea of smarter cities through development of advanced electric equipments, telecommunications and computing technologies and robust infrastructure.
